Winnipeg, MB - At 1:05 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a house fire in the 700 block of Nassau Street.
At the scene, crews found a well-involved fire with heavy smoke and flames coming from the house.
One person was declared deceased on the scene. Paramedics assessed three patients and transported them to hospital. One patient was in unstable condition and two were in stable condition.
At the same time, other firefighters attacked the fire with hose lines. Crews switched between offensive and defensive strategies as conditions changed. They used a ladder truck to spray water from above. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 4:14 p.m.
The fire is under investigation. The home sustained significant damage from fire, smoke, and water.
