The Sparks Planning Commission has an opening for a four-year term ending on December 31, 2029. Planning Commissioners must be Sparks residents and registered voters. Applications will be accepted until November 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Apply at https://www.cityofsparks.us/getinvolved.

Mayor Lawson proclaimed November as Homeless Youth Awareness Month to highlight the challenges facing homeless youth and to encourage community support for programs that provide safety, stability, and opportunity.

Approved the employment agreement between the City of Sparks and Casey Mentzer as director of the Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility (TMWRF). Mayor Lawson administered the oath of office.

Appointed Elyse Monroy-Marsala to the Sparks Civil Service Commission for a partial term ending June 30, 2026.

Approved a resolution amending and updating fees charged by the Sparks Fire Department for certain inspections, re-inspections, and related fire prevention services.

Council heard a second reading, held a public meeting, and adopted an ordinance to adopt a final plan that is in substantial compliance with the approved tentative plan for the Andelin Ranch Planned Development.
