Walberg Announces Inaugural Veteran of the Month

Yesterday, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) honored Ken Moore as the Veteran of the Month, a new initiative dedicated to honoring and acknowledging the exemplary contributions of veterans in Michigan's 5th Congressional District. Congressman Walberg presented to Ken the Congressional Record of his remarkshonoring Ken's life and legacy.

Ken Moore served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and is the co-founder of Flags O'er Veterans, which pays tribute to deceased veterans in the Monroe community by installing flagpoles in local cemeteries where veterans are laid to rest. Ken also served for 25 years as a member of the Monroe Police Force.

"I am proud to announce this new initiative, which recognizes outstanding veterans in Michigan's 5th District, and honor Ken Moore from Monroe as our first recipient," said Rep Walberg. "Our nation's heroic veterans have sacrificed so much for our freedoms, and since returning home, many have continued to serve our communities through their everyday actions. Ken Moore's remarkable life of service and his leadership working on behalf of America's veterans inspire us all."
