Fort Worth expands NET Force program to seven additional properties

Published on October 20, 2026

The City of Fort Worth is building on the momentum of the NET Force Program as it continues working to improve neighborhoods and address properties with significant code compliance and public safety concerns.

NET Force began as a pilot program designed to bring together City resources to address some of the most challenging properties in Fort Worth. The pilot was successful in holding property owners accountable to correcting the code violations and crime at their properties. In some cases, owners chose to close their properties when required safety standards could not be met, helping protect the surrounding community.

With the pilot now complete, the City is moving forward with seven additional properties as part of the next phase of the NET Force initiative.

Seven properties selected for next phase

City staff conducted assessments of the seven properties selected for the new phase of NET Force. Beginning Oct. 1, 2026, the NET Force team will focus on these seven properties with the goal of gaining compliance and addressing outstanding conditions.

The properties include three lodging properties, one shopping center, one apartment complex and two residential properties:

  • Central Motel, 5800 E. Lancaster Ave.
  • Ranch Motel, 3620 N. Main St.
  • Cowboy Inn, 3107 N. Main St.
  • Shopping Center, 3249 N. Beach St.
  • Mirabel Apartments, 6301 Woodway Drive
  • Residential No. 1, 2929 Mount Vernon Ave.
  • Residential No. 2, 3300 E. Rosedale St.

What will happen at these properties?

The seven properties vary in condition. Several have significant substandard or hazardous conditions, including structural deterioration, compromised electrical systems, unsecured structures, property maintenance violations, illegal dumping and other conditions requiring Code Compliance and Fort Worth Police intervention. Some properties also have documented criminal activity or other public safety concerns.

The primary goal is to bring each property into compliance through the appropriate enforcement process.

What happened to the pilot properties?

The original NET Force pilot locations remain in "Monitoring" status following the conclusion of the pilot.

Sandy Oaks Apartments reached full compliance after the property owners worked collaboratively with Code Compliance staff and FWPD. The City has not received any tenant complaints. However, the police department is addressing active criminal activity at the property.

Rocky's II has minor substandard violations that are being addressed. And, the City's Environmental Services Department is also working a litter case at the property. The Southside Food Market eventually closed following several follow-up inspections.

At the Eco Motel, substantial progress has been made toward repairing the lodging structures. Code Compliance will continue following up with the property owner through ongoing inspections.
