Government of Yukon seeks public feedback to cut red tape

Published May 6, 2026

The Government of Yukon is launching a new online feedback form to offer a simple way for people to share how government rules, processes or regulations impact them.

Anyone who interacts with the government is encouraged to complete the form, including members of the public, businesses, service providers, non-governmental organizations and other governments.

The Yukon government defines red tape as the unnecessary time, effort and costs associated with accessing government programs, following government rules or completing required processes.

Information collected through the online form will help the Yukon government understand where red tape exists and help prioritize improvements to government services and regulations.

The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Culture will analyze submissions and use them to inform the development of the Red Tape Reduction Framework.

This is the first step toward delivering on our mandate commitment to reduce red tape and make life easier for Yukoners and businesses to work with the government. This form gives Yukoners a direct way to identify barriers they experience, and help us focus on improving our service delivery and supporting Yukon communities.

Minister of Economic Development, Tourism and Culture Jen Gehmair

Reducing unnecessary red tape is important to helping businesses spend more time serving customers, creating jobs and contributing to the local economy. The Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce welcomes the launch of this feedback form as a practical way for Yukoners to identify administrative barriers they experience when working with government. We encourage businesses and residents to share specific examples so that future improvements are grounded in real experience and lead to more efficient, responsive public services.

Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce Chair Marcos Castillo
