NCDHHS Launches NC Injury Data User Toolkit, Hosts Virtual Learning Session

MEDIA ADVISORY - Credentialed media are invited to join the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services' Division of Public Health's Injury and Violence Prevention Branch (IVPB) for a virtual media availability to introduce the North Carolina Injury Data User Toolkit, a new resource designed to help users better understand, interpret and apply IVPB data in North Carolina. This interactive session on Wednesday, April 15 at 11 a.m. will demonstrate the toolkit's features and show how IVPB data can be used to improve data literacy and support data-informed decision making.

Credentialed media are invited to join the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services' Division of Public Health's Injury and Violence Prevention Branch (IVPB) for a virtual media availability to introduce the North Carolina Injury Data User Toolkit, a new resource designed to help users better understand, interpret and apply IVPB data in North Carolina. This interactive session on Wednesday, April 15 at 11 a.m. will demonstrate the toolkit's features and show how IVPB data can be used to improve data literacy and support data-informed decision making.

The NC Injury Data User Toolkit will help users navigate and understand injury and violence data resources. The types of data in the toolkit include but are not limited to overdose deaths, firearm deaths and suicide deaths.

This newly launched toolkit includes Injury Data Briefs, overviews of IVPB data and processes, a resource Inventory, and other educational content to ensure IVPB data resources are understandable, accessible and actionable.

IVPB staff will provide a live demonstration of the Data Resource Inventory to show attendees where to find appropriate IVPB data resources and how to use them effectively.
