Nighttime work continues after Labor Day at U.S. 101 and SR-92 through October

Published: Aug 29, 2025

San Mateo County ― Caltrans will continue weeknight overnight work to construct bridge column foundations near U.S. 101 and SR-92. Some of the work will include drilling and driving support piles into the ground, which can be loud and may be heard in nearby neighborhoods.

To help reduce noise impacts, Caltrans will be scheduling the loudest work during limited hours whenever feasible and using equipment and methods that help lower noise levels.

In addition, overnight detours will continue through the end of October 2025 at two locations:

  • Westbound SR-92 to southbound U.S. 101
  • Southbound U.S. 101 to Fashion Island Blvd.

Please follow detour signs.

This work is part of the $45M U.S. 101- SR-92 Short-term Improvements Project that is co-sponsored by the San Mateo County Transportation Authority and City/County Association of Governments. The project will bring operational improvements, enhancement to local access, and promotion of economic vitality to the region.

All work is weather dependent. Please drive with caution.

Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
