Sen. Moran Announces Federal Investments for 11 Kansas Rural Hospitals

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) - a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health & Human Services, and Education (LHHS) -- today announced 11 Kansas rural hospitals will receive federal investments through the new Rural Hospital Provider Assistance Program (RHPAP) administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The investments are part of nearly $25 million in federal resources awarded to eligible providers across the country to strengthen small rural hospitals and help maintain access to care for patients in rural areas. Sen. Moran helped establish the program in the FY2026 LHHS appropriations legislation, which was signed into law this year.

"Local hospitals are critical to the health and success of rural communities in Kansas and across the country," said Sen. Moran. "During last year's appropriations process, I helped establish the Rural Hospital Provider Assistance Program to help make certain that rural hospitals in Kansas receive the stability and certainty they need to continue delivering quality care to Kansans in their communities. I will continue to work with our rural health care providers and state leaders to improve access to care and strengthen our rural providers."
