District leaders credit increased library engagement to initiatives like the device-free policy and expanded access to a variety of high-interest titles. Beyond books, libraries are evolving into innovation hubs, offering students hands-on experiences in coding, robotics, and emerging technologies.

Elementary students build school spirit through house olympics
Lida Hooe Elementary School will partner with United to Learn for a campus-wide House Olympics at 10 a.m., Friday, May 1. The event will feature interactive games and challenges designed to build school pride, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging. With support from community volunteers, the high-energy event highlights how positive school culture can boost student engagement and success.
