OMC launches redesigned Experts Directory for journalists; faculty/staff invited to join

The Office of Marketing and Communication has launched a new and improved Experts Directory to support journalists looking for topic experts, redesigned for an improved user experience and with additional resources.

Visit the new Experts Directory here.

Faculty and staff subject matter experts are invited to join the Experts Directory to provide context and background on topics of their expertise with local and national journalists. Preferences - such as media format or contact method - are laid out for users, while OMC staff are available for consultation or media opportunity vetting.

By being listed in the Experts Directory, experts are only consenting to direct contact from journalists. Experts are not obligated to respond to any media requests that do not interest them.

To join the Experts Directory, fill out this form. If you have any questions or concerns about joining the Experts Directory - or fielding media requests, contact Kevin Conway, associate director of university communication, at [email protected].

Visitors of the redesigned Experts Directory can now filter by college or format - TV, radio or print - and search by topic, name, department, etc. The directory also creates opportunity for non-English-speaking media, with a modest selection of Spanish-speaking experts to start and additional languages noted where available.

In addition to a searchable database of nearly 300 faculty and staff experts, the Experts Directory will also feature recent expert placements for added context, as well as background on featured experts.

The Experts Directory is curated and maintained by OMC's media relations team, including Conway and Melissa Barclay, senior communication specialist.
