Who Should Attend:
This conference is intended for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, medical and pharmacy students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients receiving immunotherapy for cancer. The educational content is designed for multidisciplinary clinicians practicing in oncology, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, primary care, urgent care, critical care, and relevant medical and surgical subspecialties.
The conference will be held Oct. 23 in the Cameron Auditorium at Benefis East Campus.
Objectives:
Describe the mechanisms of action and toxicity profiles associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors.
Recognize common and life-threatening immune-related adverse events (irAEs) affecting major organ systems.
Differentiate immune-mediated toxicities from infectious, malignant, and treatment-related mimics.
Apply evidence-based guidelines to the grading and initial management of irAEs.
Identify appropriate interdisciplinary consultation and escalation strategies from complex toxicities.
Implement communication strategies that improve continuity and safety for hospitalized oncology patients receiving immunotherapy.
Continuing Education:
Continuing education (CNE/CME) will be awarded for conference participation. (Estimated 6.5 credits) Pending further application, submission, and review.
Registration:
The cost will be $75 for non Benefis employees, and $35 for employees. All students are free.
