EU–Malawi Youth Sounding Board Engages in TIPULA 3 Entrepreneurship Festival

On Saturday 23rd August 2026, the EU-Malawi Youth Sounding Board (YSB) participated in TIPULA 3 - The Entrepreneurship Festival, Blantyre Edition, held at Chichiri Upper Stadium.

Organised under the Zantchito Entrepreneurship & Access to Finance Programme, implemented by UNDP with support from the European Union, in partnership with Sanwecka, the festival brought together young entrepreneurs, innovators, partners and stakeholders to learn, connect, pitch ideas and explore opportunities.

The YSB's participation marked an important step in its evolving role within youth and entrepreneurship programming. Rather than participating as beneficiaries, the YSB contributed in an advisory capacity, with its Secretary, Lisa Kampata, and Data and Evidence Lead, Lonjezo Sibweza, serving as members of the judging panel for the entrepreneurship pitches.

Ahead of the pitches, the YSB representatives participated in a judges' alignment session to establish a common understanding of the scoring criteria and approach

Beyond the judging panel, YSB members engaged with participants and partners, shared YSB and EU materials, strengthened connections with stakeholders, and documented the event through photos and videos. They also interacted with entrepreneurs who attended to learn, showcase their ideas and build networks.

The engagement reflects the evolving role of the EU-Malawi Youth Sounding Board - from participating in youth programmes to increasingly contributing as advisors, connectors and representatives of young people's perspectives.

Through engagements such as TIPULA 3, the YSB continues to strengthen its role as a bridge between EU-supported programming and young people on the ground, helping bring youth perspectives, experiences and aspirations closer to programmes and decision-making spaces.

The TIPULA 3 engagement provided an opportunity to celebrate youth entrepreneurship while strengthening dialogue, networking and collaboration around opportunities for young people in Malawi.
