Temporary lane closures Saturday on I-290 at I-355

CHICAGO - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that a routine inspection of the Eisenhower Expressway (Interstate 290) bridge over Interstate 355, in Addison, will require temporary lane closures, weather permitting, Saturday, Sept. 12.

To complete the inspection, one lane on eastbound I-290 over I-355 will be closed from 5 to 8 a.m. In addition, the left shoulders on both northbound and southbound I-355 will be closed between 8 a.m. and noon. ​

The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
