Freeport-McMoRan Awards $25,000.00 for the Riverview Park Playground.
Fort Madison, Iowa- The City of Fort Madison was awarded $25,000.00 grant from Freeport-McMoRan Foundation for the Riverview Park Playground on November 20, 2025, to assist with a public kick off campaign. This is the third grant awarded to assist the city with the Riverview Park Playground project.
"We are grateful to the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation for this generous investment in our community. This grant moves the Riverview Park project from vision to reality, helping us build a space where families can gather, kids can play, and Fort Madison can continue growing stronger together. This partnership is a powerful example of what happens when local commitment meets corporate support." - Matt Mohrfeld, Mayor of Fort Madison
The Riverview Playground will be an all-inclusive playground for everyone to be able to play. The design plans include a splash pad, restrooms, shelter house, and other activities for all ages and abilities. Numerous Grant resources have been applied for, and other joint collaborations are needed to finish the project.
Partners like Freeport-McMoRan Foundation have made designing the playground a reality and helping us make the next steps for the project.
