Visit IDOI at the 2026 Illinois State Fair for Insurance Tips, Games and Giveaways

Chicago - The Illinois Department of Insurance (IDOI) welcomes Illinoisans to our booth at the 2026 Illinois State Fair. You'll find team IDOI in the Lieutenant Governor's tent again where we're rolling out a new consumer education game and giveaways.

"While everyone enjoys the Illinois State Fair, we want to help them get answers to their questions about insurance and have fun in the process" said IDOI Director Ann Gillespie. "If you ace our new "Know your Auto Insurance Coverage | Drive Protected" game, you'll score an IDOI stress ball - shaped like a car, of course. Our Consumer Education and Protection team is looking forward to testing consumers' insurance knowledge and sharing theirs."

Visitors can also pick up freebies such as rain ponchos, lip balm, and our popular consumer education materials, including:

  • Auto Coverage 101
  • What to Do After an Auto Accident

If your community group would like IDOI's Consumer Education and Protection team to participate in your in-person or virtual event to help educate Illinois consumers about auto, homeowners, renters, life and flood insurance, please fill out the Event Participation Request . We will accommodate requests as scheduling permits.

The Illinois Department of Insurance (IDOI) protects Illinois insurance consumers by working to ensure that all entities regulated by IDOI are in compliance with state and federal laws, and by informing consumers about their rights under those laws. IDOI provides consumers with information about insurance and investigates complaints about insurance plans, companies, brokers, and agents. IDOI also regulates the Illinois insurance industry's market behavior and financial solvency.
