Newly appointed Minister of Transport the Hon. Leon Lundy makes first official visit to GB since assuming new responsibilities

GRAND BAHAMA, The Bahamas - On Thursday, July 16, 2026 Minister of Transport, the Hon. Leon Lundy accompanied by other delegates completed a two-day visit to Grand Bahama, marking his first official visit to the island since taking on his new responsibility as the Minister of Transport.

During the first day of the visit, Minister Lundy toured several departments within the ministry including the Road Traffic Department Head Office and its Sub-Station. He also met with representatives of the Grand Bahama Taxi Cab Association to discuss matters affecting the transportation sector and to hear their concerns.

On the second day, the Minister paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Grand Bahama before meeting with port stakeholders. The day's activities also included visits to the Port Department and the Grand Bahama Post Office where he met with staff and observed their operations.

Throughout the visit, Minister Lundy engaged with employees across the various departments discussing operational matters, listening to staff, and gaining firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities within the ministry's departments on Grand Bahama.
