DALLAS - Sunset High School is celebrating 100 years of legacy, pride, and community in the heart of Oak Cliff. Since opening its doors in 1925, the campus shaped generations of students and educators - many of whom have returned to teach and give back. The centennial celebration united graduates across decades for a week of festivities, honoring Sunset's storied history while looking ahead to the next century of Bison pride.

VISUALS:Students ready to score at soccer event
On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Dallas Education Foundation and Walmart launched a new community initiative at John Quincy Adams Elementary School to boost educational and family engagement across Dallas ISD. Supported by a $50,000 Walmart donation, the initiative will fund a series of events using soccer to bring families together and strengthen school-community connections. Students participated in a soccer clinic, getting active and playing alongside their peers.

Dallas Cowboys' player to discuss mental health with students
Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy at A. Maceo Smith will receive a special visit from Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle, Solomon Thomas, at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7. Thomas will speak with students about building resilience, prioritizing mental health, and the importance of supporting one another.
Bond community meeting tonight
The Construction Services/Bond Office is hosting a bond community meeting at 6 p.m., tonight, Oct. 6, at Seagoville High School to discuss the new pre-K through eighth campus. The meeting is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to share their input.
