Meet NFL star Sauce Gardner at Detroit's Occupy the Summer Juneteenth Celebration

Detroit residents will have the chance to meet Detroit-native and NFL All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner during Mayor Mary Sheffield's Occupy the Summer Summer Fridays: Juneteenth Celebration on Friday, June 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crowell Recreation Center, 16630 Lahser Rd.

Gardner will join the celebration as a special guest, helping kick off an evening focused on community, family and youth engagement. The free event is part of Mayor Sheffield's Occupy the Summer initiative, which brings safe, fun and resource-filled programming to neighborhoods across Detroit throughout the summer.

In addition to the appearance by Sauce Gardner, attendees can enjoy:
