California State University, Bakersfield received national recognition for its online Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.

The program was included in the top 6% of institutions ranked in the U.S. News and World Report's 2026 Best Online MBA Programs list. Programs were evaluated based on a variety of factors, such as student engagement, faculty credentials and services and technologies. CSUB ranked 107 out of more than 1,800 online programs.

"We are delighted but not surprised to receive this designation," said Dr. Deborah Cours, dean of the College of Business and Public Administration (BPA). "Many community and industry leaders in Kern County, Antelope Valley and beyond have earned their MBA at CSUB. Our dedicated faculty, with expertise gained in doctoral study at the best universities and professional experiences, help students develop to pursue their career and personal goals."

The online MBA offers a relevant curriculum, regional relevance, along with convenience and flexibility. Students have access to all the resources of the university, with support services available in Bakersfield and Lancaster as well as online.

In its 14th year, U.S. News' Best Online Programs ranking is designed for individuals looking to complete or further their education. This year's edition evaluates online bachelor's and master's degree programs using metrics specific to online learning. The rankings include only degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions.
