Bio Farma Strengthens Innovation and Collaboration for the Future of Healthcare at DTIIF 2026

Jakarta, October 27, 2026 - PT Bio Farma (Persero) showcased various technological innovations in vaccine research, production, and distribution through its participation in the Danantara Technology Innovation and Investment Forum (DTIIF) 2026, held in Jakarta on October 26-28, 2026. The participation is part of Bio Farma's efforts to strengthen Indonesia's pharmaceutical industry while supporting the provision of high-quality vaccines for the public.

Held under the theme "Investing in Tomorrow: Advancing Technology, Innovation, and Sustainable Growth," DTIIF 2026 brought together more than 1,500 participants, including global innovators, technology business leaders, research institutions, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), investors, scientists, and strategic partners from Indonesia and abroad.

In his opening remarks, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BPI Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, outlined three main objectives of DTIIF.

"Through DTIIF, we have three key ambitions. First, to build partnerships that support Indonesia's long-term economic and industrial transformation. Second, to mobilize global capital and expertise to turn strategic projects into measurable investment opportunities. Third, to ensure that the collaborations and dialogues established through this forum lead to tangible and sustainable initiatives, even after the forum concludes," Rosan said.

In line with these objectives, Bio Farma used the forum as an opportunity to explore collaboration with industry players, research institutions, technology companies, and investors. These partnerships are expected to accelerate product research and innovation, create opportunities for technology transfer, and strengthen Indonesia's domestic capabilities in vaccine development and manufacturing.

Bio Farma President Director Shadiq Akasya emphasized that collaboration is a key factor in developing innovative pharmaceutical products that can compete in the global market.

"Developing a product requires research and development (R&D), innovation, and technology. We hope this forum will lead to opportunities that we can pursue to support Bio Farma's development," Shadiq said.

At DTIIF 2026, Bio Farma showcased several technologies that have been developed and implemented to support its operations. These include digital vaccine distribution monitoring, the use of artificial intelligence in research and production, and personnel competency development through digital simulations.

One of the innovations showcased was Medtrack, a digital system that enables real-time monitoring of vaccine distribution. The technology allows temperature monitoring throughout the delivery process and helps detect potential distribution disruptions, supporting the maintenance of vaccine quality and safety until the products reach their destinations. This monitoring capability strengthens distribution processes, which play a critical role in protecting public health.

Bio Farma is also optimizing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in research and production activities. AI technology supports the monitoring of polio vaccine production processes and assists in the analysis and selection of DNA- and mRNA-based vaccine candidates. These applications are part of the company's efforts to improve the effectiveness of pharmaceutical research and development while strengthening domestic technological capabilities.

In human resource development, Bio Farma has implemented virtual reality (VR) technology to support personnel qualification through digital simulations. This technology enables competency development through more interactive and structured learning methods, helping personnel keep pace with technological advancements in the pharmaceutical industry.

These technological applications go hand in hand with the digitalization of production and quality control processes to improve operational efficiency, process consistency, and product quality. Improvements to internal processes and personnel competencies are integral to Bio Farma's ongoing transformation and help strengthen the company's foundation for sustainable innovation.

By strengthening its research, production, and distribution capabilities, Bio Farma seeks to connect technological advancements with public health needs. Its innovations are directed toward supporting the availability of high-quality vaccines, strengthening immunization efforts, and enhancing Indonesia's national capacity to meet healthcare needs.

Shadiq emphasized that advancing innovation and technological capabilities is essential to maintaining and strengthening Bio Farma's competitiveness in the global market. Bio Farma's polio vaccines are currently used in more than 150 countries, reflecting the company's contribution to public health programs worldwide.

In addition to meeting Indonesia's domestic vaccine needs, Bio Farma also contributes to global vaccine supply, including through its collaboration with UNICEF. This contribution provides a foundation for the company to continue advancing its research, technology, and manufacturing capabilities in support of public health in Indonesia and around the world.

Through its participation in DTIIF 2026, Bio Farma hopes to create more opportunities for strategic partnerships focused on strengthening research capabilities, facilitating technology transfer, and accelerating pharmaceutical innovation.

"I hope this forum will expand opportunities for collaboration with various strategic partners, including research companies and organizations with expertise in technology development," Shadiq concluded.

Guided by its spirit of "Advancing Hope, Shaping The Future," Bio Farma continues to transform into an innovative, adaptive, and globally competitive life sciences company. Through science, collaboration, and continuous improvement, Bio Farma is committed to shaping a healthier future by bringing the benefits of innovation to the public while strengthening Indonesia's health resilience and self-reliance.
