As of Dec. 31, 2025, Colgate University has raised more than $5.9 million for the Colgate Fund. This milestone places the University more than halfway toward its $10.4 million goal for the 2026 fiscal year (Jul. 1, 2025-Jun. 30, 2026), ensuring robust support for the unrestricted-use funding that impacts every student and program on campus.

This achievement was driven by the successful conclusion of the Colgate Year-End Challenge. The challenge, which ran from Dec. 16-31, mobilized the Colgate community to support the University's liberal arts and sciences tradition.

The initiative began with a $1.5 million commitment from a dedicated group of leadership-level donors. In a call to maximize the impact of these leadership gifts, the University challenged the broader community to double that amount. More than 3,800 alumni, families, and friends responded - far exceeding expectations - to raise a record-breaking total of $4.6 million for the Colgate Fund during the challenge period.

"I am deeply grateful to our challengers who joined me and to the thousands of donors who rose to meet them," said President Brian W. Casey. "This generosity directly supports our faculty and ensures that a Colgate education remains a meaningful foundation for our students' lives."

The effort centered on supporting fundamentals of the Colgate experience: the close collaboration between scholars and the long-term professional trajectory of graduates. By highlighting student-faculty research and the achievements of notable alumni, the challenge underscored the enduring value of a liberal arts and sciences foundation - one that equips graduates with the tools for leadership and complex problem-solving in an evolving global environment.

Kim Harris, vice president for advancement, noted the strategic importance of the timing and the target. "The year-end period is a dynamic moment for the Colgate Fund. By heeding this call, our community has provided the flexible, immediate-use support necessary to sustain our most vital programs. Gifts of all sizes contributed to the effort, and it is a resounding vote of confidence in Colgate's future and in support of the Campaign for the Third Century."
