NATCA President Nick Daniels was interviewed on PBS News Hour by Geoff Bennett on Friday, Oct. 3. During the interview, when Bennett asked whether the public should worry about safety, Daniels responded, "People can feel safe flying, but that's because of the men and women that I represent, the air traffic controllers that are shouldering this burden day in and day out. They will go to work. They will do an amazing job. They will move 35,000 flights a day, three million people, the cargo associated with it. [But] every single day that this [shutdown] goes, it's more stress on their back. It's an unnecessary distraction that needs to end."
Daniels called on Congress to end the shutdown and put all federal workers back to work.
