President Daniel A. Wubah delivered the keynote address at Kabarak University's 16th International Research Conference, sharing his thoughts on "Educating for Impact: How Universities Can Shape Africa's Future through Innovation, Leadership and Service."
Wubah and a delegation from Millersville University visited the University's vice-chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat, earlier in the day as the two institutions formally signed a memorandum of understanding for collaboration in research, academic exchange, innovation, faculty development and student mobility.
Earlier in the trip, the group traveled to Tharaka University (Kenya) to sign an articulation agreement establishing a framework that will enable students from TUN to pursue a 1+2+1 dual-degree pathway, where students complete their first year at TUN, spend two years studying at Millersville University in the United States, and return to TUN for their final year before graduating with qualifications recognized by both institutions.
Millersville previously joined a consortium that includes several Kenyan universities - Kabarak University, Maasai Mara University, Tharaka University and the University of Nairobi - to establish international learning opportunities.
