Early-career members: Get funding to attend VLC

Are you an early-career veterinarian looking to develop your leadership skills? The AVMA is offering $1,000 in funding to get you to the 2026 Veterinary Leadership Conference (VLC).

Who should apply?

If you graduated veterinary school in 2021 or later, you're eligible to apply. We especially encourage applications from:

[It's] One of my new favorite conferences. I am so glad that I went this year.

  • Rising leaders- Veterinarians who want to lead but have little or no prior leadership experience
  • Those under-represented in leadership- Veterinarians from a demographic, geographic, or socioeconomic group or practice type that is under-represented in U.S. veterinary leadership

Ten of these awards are available, each providing a $1,000 stipend to help offset registration, travel, and meal expenses while attending VLC 2026, taking place January 8-10 in Chicago. Applications are due by October 1, 2025.

Why attend VLC?

The Veterinary Leadership Conference is more than an event. It's a launchpad for growth. Attendees connect with peers, learn practical leadership skills, and gain insights that strengthen both personal careers and the veterinary profession.

As one past attendee shared, "[It's] One of my new favorite conferences. I am so glad that I went this year."

Don't miss this valuable opportunity to invest in yourself and your future as a leader. Learn more at avma.org/VLC.
