The European Union attends the 181st session of the FAO Council

The 181st session of the Council of the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), chaired by Mina Rizk (ICC) is now under way in Rome and Ambassador Martin Selmayr and his team are participating. On the agenda are notably: global food security challenges and drivers (especially Russia's continuing war of aggression against Ukraine and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz), FAO emergency interventions in crisis settings, the review of FAO, and the bioeconomy. The EU is a strong, reliable and predictable partner of FAO and participates actively in its multilateral work.
