ICfL Has Opening for Deputy State Librarian

The Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) is recruiting to fill the role of deputy state librarian. The position is open until 4:59 p.m. MT on Sunday, March 8, 2026. For more information and to apply, please view the full job posting.

As a member of the ICfL's management team, the deputy state librarian contributes to the development and evaluation of the agency's strategic plan, policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those related to team assignments and personnel. Other responsibilities include: the planning and evaluation of statewide development programs; the monitoring of funding; and the identification of issues, priorities, opportunities, and threats for the agency and the Idaho library community. The deputy state librarian will also hire, coach, and evaluate consultant and program staff.

Required qualifications include a Master's of Library Science degree or a bachelor's degree and at least five years of professional library experience.

The ICfL assists the more than 850 public, school, academic, and special libraries in Idaho to best serve their communities.
