On 15 December 2025, Aurelia Metals was thrilled to take part in a Mutual Aid Training Day, bringing together Emergency Response Team (ERT) members from Aeris, Polymetals, Harmony and CSA Mine.
Held at the Cobar Memorial Pool, the day focused on practical training and team building activities that challenged teams to work together under pressure, build trust and enhance communication. The activities helped foster stronger connections across the Cobar mining community and ensured ERTs are better prepared to respond together when additional support is needed.
The program supported operational readiness and reinforced the ability for emergency response teams across the region to assist one another if an incident occurs, highlighting that safety remains the number one priority on mine sites.
Speaking about the day, CSA Mine ERT Lead, Alex Lennon said building trusted relationships across sites is essential for effective emergency response.
"It's vital for our teams to know each other and be able to work together seamlessly. The scenarios today strengthened how we communicate and support one another when it matters most," Alex said.
Reflecting on the day's outcomes, Aurelia ERT Lead, Robbie Cummins praised the dedication of ERT members, noting they are the cornerstone of strong safety performance.
"The commitment shown by our ERT volunteers is inspiring. Their willingness to step up for their teams and communities plays a critical role in keeping our sites safe," Robbie said.
ERT members take on these responsibilities in addition to their day-to-day roles, volunteering their time and skills to help keep their workmates and communities safe. Their commitment to training, learning and supporting others is incredibly inspiring.
A big thank you to the Manager of the Cobar Memorial Pool for hosting the teams for this critical training exercise.
