The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, H.E. Nasser Bourita, held talks on Wednesday in Rabat with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.
This meeting took place on the margins of Mr. Youssouf's participation in the 58th session of the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, convened by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Tangier.
Their discussions provided an opportunity to review avenues for further strengthening cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the African Union Commission, and to explore ways to deepen this partnership in alignment with the shared aspirations of Agenda 2063.
They also exchanged views on key continental priorities, including peace and security, as well as initiatives aimed at advancing sustainable development and regional integration across Africa.
The Chairperson commended the Kingdom's sustained contribution, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, to the Pan-African agenda for development, peace, and security. He further welcomed Morocco's election on the Peace and Security Council in February.
