DGA Statement on Michigan GOP Primary Results

DGA Executive Director Meghan Meehan-Draper released the following statement in response to John James becoming the Republican nominee for governor in Michigan:

"John James is a two-time statewide loser who is out for himself, and we're going to make him a three-time statewide loser in November. After an expensive and nasty primary, he's entering the general election bruised, broke, and as a failed DC politician who has proven he'll do or say anything to help himself, no matter how much it hurts Michiganders. While James has made hundreds of stock trades - many that he's illegally failed to report on time - he's voted to jack up the cost of gas and groceries and for the largest Medicaid cut in history. His committee wrote the plan to make devastating cuts to Social Security. His record is so unpopular that he's spent this entire primary desperately repeating election conspiracies so Donald Trump would bail out his low-energy, no-show campaign."
