March 30, 2026
By Kaitlyn McBride, NASEO

NASEO released a new "Program-in-a-Box: Designing State Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) Programs to Reduce Energy Costs for K-12 Schools." This Program-in-a-Box is a resource to support State and Territory Energy Offices and their partners in designing and implementing ESPC programs to save money and energy for K-12 schools. This resource includes sample documents, templates, and guidance materials to help streamline ESPC program design, stakeholder engagement, procurement, and project implementation for school-focused ESPC efforts. It is intended to complement existing state resources and can be adapted to meet individual state needs and market conditions. Please reach out to Sam Cramer ([email protected]) with any questions.
