FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BALTIMORE, MD (Wednesday, November 12, 2025) - Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott released the following statement on the arrest and charges against BPD Officer Robert Parks:

"Commissioner Worley and I have said from the beginning that BPD would conduct a thorough investigation into this incident and hold the officer accountable under the law. Immediately following this incident, the officer's police powers were suspended, and on Monday he was suspended without pay. This morning, he was charged by State's Attorney Ivan Bates with attempted murder."

"This officer's actions were unacceptable, and completely at odds with how we expect our public servants to act. We are thankful to our partners in the State's Attorney's office for their work, and will be closely following the outcome of this trial. If convicted, the officer will be fired immediately, in accordance with the law."
