LOS ANGELES - Congresswoman Luz Rivas (CA-29) released the following statement after the United States Postal Service (USPS) intercepted a suspicious envelope that matched the description and contents of envelopes Members of Congress have been receiving across the country:
"This morning, USPS notified my district office in Arleta that it had intercepted a suspicious envelope similar to those my colleagues across the country have been receiving. This matter is now being investigated by the USPS Postal Inspector. I am thankful no one was harmed, and for USPS' quick response to keep my staff and district office safe.
"This is part of a disturbing pattern that is happening across the country - but my staff and I will not be deterred from serving constituents. Acts of political violence and intimidation have no place in our country, and it must be condemned by everyone."
