Lewisville Mayor TJ Gilmore and other City leaders will be ringing a bell for charity next Saturday as Lewisville looks to retain its title in the Salvation Army Red Kettle Challenge.
The mayor's bell-ringing challenge will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Mayor Gilmore and other City officials will be set up outside Sam's Club, 751 W. Main Street.
Mayor Gilmore has set a goal of raising $2,500 this year.
Donations can be made online at: give.salvationarmytexas.org.
Earlier this month, Mayor Gilmore issued a friendly challenge to all the mayors in Denton County to benefit The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign.
The annual Red Kettle Campaign provides the largest percentage of The Salvation Army's operating budget for the entire year. The Red Kettle Campaign funds community programs such as clothing assistance, food pantry and meal service, employment assistance, rent and utility assistance, adult education, and emergency response.
