Congressman Fong Votes to Advance FY2026 Appropriations Bills to Strengthen National Security, Rein in Spending

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) voted to pass H.R. 7006 - the Financial Services and General Government and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act of 2026, a comprehensive funding package that strengthens national security, restores fiscal discipline, and replaces Biden-era policies with meaningful reforms.

The legislation provides full-year funding for two additional appropriations bills, continuing House Republicans' progress toward completing the FY26 appropriations process. Importantly, the package keeps overall spending more than $9 billion below current continuing resolution levels, delivering real savings for Central Valley families and American taxpayers while ensuring critical government functions remain funded.

"Today's vote advances responsible budgeting and strengthens security for families, farmers, and businesses across the Central Valley and throughout our nation," said Congressman Fong (CA-20). "This bill reins in wasteful spending, protects Valley taxpayers, and ensures resources are focused on real priorities at home and abroad. It enforces accountability, supports our allies, and stands up to adversaries. This legislation delivers safety, strength, and accountability for the Central Valley by putting America first and making sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely."
