Bettendorf Fire Responds to 4500 Utica Ridge Road
October 8, 2026 - On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at approximately 11:31 p.m., the Bettendorf Fire Department was dispatched to UnityPoint Health-Trinity Bettendorf (4500 Utica Ridge Road) for a report of a vehicle that had driven into the building.
On arrival, crews found a vehicle that had struck a window near the emergency room entrance. Hospital staff on scene were already providing care to the driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old man, who was extricated by BFD and taken inside the hospital for further evaluation.
The building was evaluated for further structural damage and hazards. The vehicle was removed from the window opening by a local towing service and the opening was shored with struts to ensure structural stability.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Bettendorf Police Department, and no other injuries were reported. No further information will be released at this time.
