Sen. Adrienne White Carden Officially Sworn in as Georgia State Senator

ATLANTA (June 29, 2026) - On Friday, June 26, Sen. Adrienne White Carden (D-Duluth) was officially sworn in as a member of the Georgia State Senate during a ceremony at the Georgia State Capitol. She now represents the 7th Senate District, which includes Berkeley Lake, Duluth, and parts of Lawrenceville, Peachtree Corners, Norcross and Suwanee.

"I am honored to represent the citizens of the 7th Senate District," said Sen. Carden. "I am ready to work alongside my legislative colleagues to support progressive policies and achieve affordability for all Georgians. I believe that our best work as legislators comes when we interact with members of our community, and I look forward to continuing to collaborate throughout the legislative interim."

Sen. Carden graduated from the University of Virginia, where she earned her Masters of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Commerce, with a concentration in accounting. She began her career at Ernst & Young LLP's external audit services and worked for four years before transitioning into finance roles at the Coca-Cola Company, National Center for Human Rights, and Citizens Trust Bank. She currently serves as Senior Vice President at SouthState Bank and uses her expertise to help organizations access a plethora of essential banking resources. Sen. Carden resides in Duluth with her husband, Gwinnett County Commissioner Kirkland Carden, and their son, Bleu.

Sen. Carden is the Board Chair of Hands On Atlanta and a board member of Atlanta Way 2.0. She also serves as a committee member and leader in multiple community organizations, including the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta Track Club, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Atlanta, and others.
