HKIA Takes Proactive Measures in Response to Tropical Cyclone Noul Approaches Hong Kong

(Hong Kong, 25 July 2026, 1730hrs) - As Tropical Cyclone Noul edges closer to Hong Kong, it has begun to cause impact on flight operations at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). As of 1650 today (25 July), 29 departure and 20 arrival flights were cancelled, while 126 departure and 112 arrival flights have been delayed.

A large number of flights are expected to be affected tomorrow (26 July). Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) will activate the Flight Rescheduling Control System to facilitate an orderly operations of flights when weather conditions permit.

AAHK advises passengers to check their airlines' latest announcements for flight information and proceed to the airport when flight time is confirmed. Passengers may also visit HKIA's website or make use of the "My HKG" mobile app for checking the latest flight information. In addition, as transportation to and from the airport may be affected by adverse weather conditions, passengers should allow sufficient time for travelling to the airport.

AAHK is proactively preparing for the typhoon and maintaining close communication with the Hong Kong Observatory, the Civil Aviation Department and the airport community to implement contingency measures.
