Greene Street Streetscape Project Nearing Completion

The City of Greensboro's Greene Street Streetscape Project is nearing completion, with final improvements underway to convert Greene Street from one-way traffic to two-way traffic.

The project includes new traffic signals and roadway enhancements designed to improve safety, accessibility, and connectivity along the corridor (from Bellemeade St. to W. Washington St.).

Over the coming weeks, 21 decorative stamped crosswalks will be installed at intersections throughout the project area, with intermittent lane closures throughout that time. Following crosswalk installation, final thermoplastic pavement markings and symbols will be applied to support the transition to two-way traffic. Newly installed traffic signals will be activated at that time.

City officials anticipate converting Greene Street to two-way operation on or before July 1.
