Boscola Announces $3 Million in State Grants for Community Development Projects

Bethlehem, May 20, 2026 - - State Senator Lisa Boscola today announced state funding totaling $3,079,291 for community development projects in the 18th Senatorial District through the Local Share Account - Northampton and Lehigh Counties and the Local Share Account-Monroe County.

These state grants will have a positive impact on our quality of life especially in providing critically needed equipment for our police, fire and EMS providers," Boscola stated. "These grant awards coming to these important community projects demonstrate the positive impact we continue to see through the state gaming act."

Boscola added that these grant awards were made possible by the collective efforts of the Lehigh Valley legislative delegation, Representatives Emrick, Flood, Freeman, Mackenzie, McNeill and Samuelson, working in a bipartisan fashion to secure the state funds, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), for investment in the following projects:

  • Bethlehem Township - $25,000 EMS Firefighter Monitoring Equipment
  • Bethlehem Township - $110,580 Radios for Nancy Run Fire Company

  • Bethlehem Township - $22,190 EMS Stair Chair Purchases
  • Bethlehem Township - $75,000 Radios for Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Company
  • East Bangor Borough - $75,000 Public Safety Radios
  • City of Easton - $75,000 Downtown Sidewalk Improvements Phase II
  • Easton Redevelopment Authority - $95,437 Roof Top Air Handler Replacement at the Crayola Experience Building
  • Forks Township - $55,805 Community Park Inclusive Playground

The Local Share Accounts (LSA) were established by the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. The funds are generated by the state's gaming facilities and may be used for economic development, community development and public interest projects in Northampton, Lehigh and Monroe County and its contiguous counties.

The grants were approved today by the state Commonwealth Financing Authority Board in Harrisburg.
