DALLAS - Hillcrest High School will host a ceremony to honor its baseball legacy by retiring the jerseys of three former players and one former coach. The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 27 at Panther Field ahead of the team's alumni game. The event is part of the school's homecoming festivities.
VISUALS:Celebrating Hispanic culture with quinceañera dress showcase
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Trinidad "Trini" Garza Early College High School highlighted tradition with a quinceañera dress showcase. The event gave young women the chance to step back into their gowns and celebrate a cherished cultural milestone. Students and teachers were invited to cheer on participants as they showcased their dresses.

Dallas ISD bands prepare to take the field
Dallas ISD is set to host Dallas Bands United Marching Showcase/Battle of the Bands starting at 8 a.m., Saturday Sept. 27 at John Kincaide Stadium. Featuring bands and drill teams across the district, the event spotlights student talent, celebrates community, and inspires the next generation of performers.
Upcoming Athletic Hall of Fame nomination deadline
Dallas ISD invites the community to help shape the next class of the Athletic Hall of Fame. Nominations are currently being accepted through Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025 for individuals who exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and moral character. Anyone may submit a nomination for a qualified candidate.
