PLA Hong Kong Garrison Holds 'July 1' Open Day Activities

BEIJING, June 21 -- To celebrate the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the 29th anniversary of the Chinese PLA's Garrison in Hong Kong, the PLA Hong Kong Garrison has successively opened its Ngong Shuen Chau, Shek Kong, and San Wai barracks to the public starting from June 20.

The Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks was the first to open its doors, attracting nearly 9,000 Hong Kong citizens for visits.

Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks' open day activities featured a flag-raising ceremony, a 108-member rifle-spinning performance by the honor guards, the military band performance, the equipment displays, training demonstration and military rations tasting.

The Shek Kong and San Wai barracks will hold open day events on June 27 and 28, 2026.
