Campus safety conversation for students, Feb. 20

Representatives from the Marquette University Police Department and Division of Belonging and Student Affairs, the Title IX Office and others will host a "Campus Safety Conversation" on Friday, Feb. 20, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in AMU 163.

This town hall-style event will address concerns regarding campus safety and security following recent safety alerts. This is an opportunity for students to hear from university leaders about the university's commitment to provide the safest campus possible in which to learn, live and work.

There is no registration or RSVP required for this event.

Resources and support available

The safety and security of our campus community is our highest priority. These situations affect people in different ways, and there are many support services available to you.  

  • Marquette Advocacy Support Services is a confidential support service for any victim of sexual violence and is available 24/7 at (414) 288-5244. 
  • Title IX resources are available by calling (414) 288-3151. 
  • Campus ministers, hall ministers and affiliated ministers are available to talk in a supportive setting. 
  • Marquette Counseling Center staff are available for drop-in visits and by appointment on the fourth floor of the Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility. Visit or call (414) 288-7172. The Counseling Center is staffed in-person from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the week, and counselors are available 24/7 via phone.    
  • Marquette's Employee Assistance Program, LifeMatters, provides up to six free confidential, independent sessions with a master's-level counselor. Additional grief resources are available on the Human Resources website.    
  • Marquette's sacred spaces are accessible for prayer and/or reflection.    
  • The Office of Student Development is staffed with support resources. Email Kelly Albrecht, CARE Team case manager, or visit AMU 329 to speak with someone in-person.
