House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Insurance Rates to Hold Third Meeting in Macon

ATLANTA - Chairman Representative Matt Reeves (R-Duluth) announces the third of four House Blue Ribbon Study Committee on Insurance Rates hearings to be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the Georgia Farm Bureau in Macon, Georgia. Chairman Reeves will be available for questions from the media at the hearing's lunch recess at noon on Friday and at the conclusion of the hearing on Friday afternoon.

The Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Insurance Rates is conducting a thorough examination of the insurance industry's rate-setting practices, profit margins, claims processing and regulatory compliance to ensure that Georgia's businesses, citizens and consumers are not being subjected to unjustified rate hikes. In addition to the general issues outlined in the committee's scope, the committee invites speakers to speak on insurance-related issues facing the state's agriculture industry. The committee also encourages any speakers that planned to speak at the postponed October meeting, which was to focus on auto insurance issues and Georgia's premium tax, to present at this upcoming meeting in Macon.

"We are looking for ways to make insurance more affordable for hardworking Georgians," Chairman Reeves summarized the committee's focus.

The fourth and final hearing will be held on December 18 in Gwinnett County at 2 p.m. at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.
