A team of projects lawyers from Norton Rose Fulbright represented JERA Americas Inc. in the sale of its equity interests in three gas-fueled power plants with a combined generating capacity of more than 3,000 megawatts (MW) to Tenaska and Tyr Energy LLC.
The facilities include the 940-MW Tenaska Virginia Generating Station near Scottsville, Virginia, the 1,220-MW Tenaska Kiamichi Generating Station near McAlester, Oklahoma and the 845-MW Tenaska Gateway Generating Station near Mt. Enterprise, Texas.
The deal closed on September 15 and is part of JERA Americas' strategy to optimize its portfolio and support future growth. The company plans to reinvest in assets that align with the evolving energy sector.
Norton Rose Fulbright's core deal team was led by Patrick Narvaez and Todd Alexander and included Kessar Nashat (New York) and Bob Shapiro (Washington, DC). Richard Wright (New York) advised on tax.
