Stripe powers Mercor’s expert marketplace for advancing AI models

SAN FRANCISCO AND DUBLIN-Stripe, the programmable financial services company, today announced that Mercor, which connects over 30,000 professionals every week with leading AI companies and enterprises to help train and evaluate AI models, has chosen Stripe to run its marketplace and power its rapid growth.

To build next-generation AI models, companies need high-quality, specialized human data, across hundreds of domains. Mercor operates a global marketplace that connects companies with professionals, ranging from Nobel Prize recipients and Emmy winners to researchers and engineers. Operating a global marketplace requires onboarding and verifying professionals, processing global payouts and staying compliant across regions. Mercor uses Stripe Connect to manage all of this. This allows Mercor to focus on growing its talent network and expanding internationally while Stripe handles the underlying complexity.

"Running a global marketplace means reliable, fast payouts are critical for the professionals who work with us. We chose Stripe because it could scale with us and supports the complexity of cross-border payments without requiring custom systems in each country," said Adarsh Hiremath, cofounder and co-ceo of Mercor.

Mercor also uses Stripe's Instant Payouts to give professionals faster access to their earnings. With a click in the Stripe Dashboard, earnings from completed work can land in a professional's bank account within seconds, including on weekends and holidays.

Stripe is building the economic infrastructure for AI. That includes partnering with the most ambitious AI companies and being their growth partner by providing the most reliable and fastest-improving financial infrastructure. Every company in the Forbes AI 50 that monetizes does so on Stripe.
