March and April Felony Sentencings
May. 12, 2026
District Attorney, Ashley E. Smith, announced today that the following people were sentenced in Cattaraugus County Court for the months of March and April 2026:
Olean, NY - DANIEL A. PRICE, 41, of Olean, NY pled guilty to Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Class B Felony). On March 30, 2026, PRICE was sentenced to 7 years in state prison with 3 years post-release supervision and ordered to pay restitution.
Franklinville, NY - CODY A. BROOKS, 33, of Franklinville, NY pled guilty to Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in the Second Degree (Class E Felony) and violated his terms of probation. On March 30, 2026, BROOKS was sentenced to 364 days in jail for the felony conviction and 6 months in jail for the violation of probation. His jail sentences were ordered to be served consecutively.
Hinsdale, NY - RUSSELL S. BRANT JR., 49, of Wellsville, NY pled guilty to Felony DWI (Class E Felony). On April 20, 2026, BRANT JR. was sentenced to four months in jail, one year of ignition interlock, and one year driving privileges revoked.
Olean, NY - CURTIS J. BONNER, 49, of Olean, NY pled guilty to Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Class D Felony). On April 27, 2026, BONNER was sentenced to 4 years in state prison and 2 years post release supervision and ordered to complete Comprehensive Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment (CASAT).
