Court Clerk honored

The Oklahoma Municipal Court Clerks Association has named Mikayla Pacin the 2026 Court Clerk of the Year and presented her with the Sara Bizzell Award.

Pacin is a graduate of Northeastern State University Broken Arrow and has worked for the city since 2025. She is the first City of Broken Arrow employee to receive this honor.

"Being a court clerk has helped me focus on accuracy, dedication, and serving the public," Pacin said. "I assist the judge with court processes and paperwork, and I assist the public with scheduling and coordinating court dates. I have a lot of interaction with the public, both on the phone and in person."

Each year, the Oklahoma Municipal Court Clerks Association honors two court clerks from across the state. It presents the Sara Bizzell Award to new clerks with fewer than five years of service and the Ann Thompson Award to experienced clerks with more than five years of service.

This award recognizes Pacin's significant contribution to the Municipal Court in Oklahoma and to the profession.

The goal of these awards is to recognize outstanding effort, advancement, and achievements. Recipients must be members of the Oklahoma Municipal Court Clerks Association, demonstrate personal growth and development in their role as a court clerk, and exhibit unquestionable ethics and morals.

According to Senior Court Clerk Brittany Pack, who nominated Pacin for the award, Pacin has proven to be an invaluable asset to her colleagues in the court and has an incredible work ethic, determination, and a strong will.

"She stays very organized and detailed, which of course in her legal field is definitely required and a huge plus, but she also has a huge heart," Pack said.

She says Pacin was the perfect candidate for this honor because she is always ready to help everyone.

"I believe that she is going to go very far," Pack said.
