Senator Warren Statement on December 2025 CPI

Washington, DC - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee released the following statement:
"For a year now, Donald Trump has raised costs for families despite his promise to lower them 'on day one.' Today's data shows that inflation is still higher than it was when President Trump started his trade war in April. And annual inflation on groceries and utilities has risen compared to a year ago, hitting household budgets hard. As I said to the President yesterday, if he is serious about lowering costs, we can start by passing legislation to cap credit card interest rates and lower housing costs. American families need relief now."
