Using Edtech Solutions and Expert Mentoring to Improve Mental Health and Learning for Students in Armenia

Evaluation design Randomized controlled trial to test interventions aiming to mitigate the adverse effects of displacement and conflict on students' mental health and learning by equipping teachers with specialized training, an online platform and referral system to foster supportive classroom environments.
EdTech components A web-based system uses KoboToolbox to collect structured mentor observation data and integrates it into a backend database. A Shiny dashboard visualizes teacher-specific metrics and generates personalized activity recommendations using an algorithm combining classroom characteristics, mentor feedback, and tagged activity metadata to rank and suggest evidence-based practices.
Main outcomes Mental health (Intensive margins of stress, anxiety, depression), Emotional well-being and regulation, Academic performance (Math and Armenian language test scores), Social-emotional skills and behavior at school, Teachers' mental health and wellbeing
