Traffic Advisory Stanislaus County 09/04/26

Closures On Interstate 5 & State Route 33

Stanislaus County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various closures on Interstate 5 and State Route 33 (SR-33) for maintenance and construction work in Stanislaus County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 33

  • Overnight, one-way traffic control between Fourth Street and Sperry Avenue for construction work beginning Wednesday, September 9, through Friday, September 11, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
  • Overnight, one-way traffic control between M Street and Eucalyptus Avenue for construction work beginning Wednesday, September 9, through Friday, September 11, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

Interstate 5

  • Long-term, full closures of the northbound and southbound Westley Safety Roadside Rest Areas and the auxiliary lane leading to the southbound rest area exit for construction work.
  • Note: This project is expected to continue through summer 2026.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
